Horses

The PiezoWave² is the only ESWT system which generates the necessary penetration depth and energy to effectively treat the equine locomotor system.
It can be used to treat deep-seated trigger points in the back muscles and sacroiliac joint dysfunction.

INDICATIONS

The treatment of orthopedic symptoms plays an important role in equine medicine. There are many professional and leisure activities which use even quite young horses – this can place high demands on the performance and resilience of the horse’s locomotor system. Extracorporeal shockwave therapy can be used to effectively treat musculoskeletal disorders with almost no side effects.

  • Insertion desmopathy of the proximal suspensory ligament and its attachment
  • Synovial cysts
  • Myofascial treatment of back muscles
  • Sacroiliac joint dysfunction
  • Ossification of the nuchal ligament
  • Bone spavin (osteoarthritis of the hock joint)
  • Desmopathies of superficial tendons and ligaments (superficial digital flexor tendon, suspensory ligament of the deep digital flexor tendon)
  • Poorly healing splint bone fractures
  • Stifle ligaments
  • Insertion of the deep digital flexor tendon at the sesamoid groove
  • Navicular syndrome
  • Poorly healing wounds
  • Kissing Spines
  • etc.

CONFIGURATION EXAMPLE:

PIEZOWAVE² VET SYSTEM
FOR LARGE ANIMALS

Point-focused and linear-focused piezo shockwave with exceptional performance characteristics.

Both therapy sources are globally unique. The F10G10 piezo therapy source has a penetration depth of up to 100 mm (in the focal center), making it indispensable for the effective treatment of large animals. The linear arrangement in the focal zone of linear-focused shockwave makes it possible, for the first time, to carry out focused treatment of large areas, opening up entirely new pathways for shockwave therapy. The linear-focused FBL10x5G2 therapy source has a penetration depth of 20 mm (in the focal center), making it ideal to treat superficial tendon pathologies.

The system can be expanded at any time by purchasing additional therapy sources.

A choice of foot or hand activation is available.

Service

The unit requires very little servicing. To ensure its maximum life span, we recommend the following:

Control unit
An annual safety inspection is mandatory in all EU member states. The inspection should be combined with a functional check by a trained engineer.

Therapy source
The guaranteed working life of the therapy source is 5 million shockwave pulses and/or 2 years. An inspection of the therapy source by a trained engineer is recommended at the end of this period.
